About Daily News

Daily News was founded in 2009 by a small group of journalists who believed that independent, locally-grounded reporting was disappearing from the English media landscape. What started as a weekly email newsletter grew, over the following years, into a full editorial operation covering national and regional stories.

We are not owned by a media conglomerate. We have no shareholders demanding quarterly growth targets. Our only obligation is to our readers, and our only measure of success is whether the stories we publish are accurate, fair and worth your time.

Our editorial team is based in London, with contributors across the country. We cover politics, business, social affairs and sport — not because these categories are convenient, but because they are where decisions are made that affect people's lives.
